Having had stints in most food industries, his love for dairy won and he has been working in the dairy industry in the Western Cape Province of South Africa since 1997. Three years ago Lebanon’s biggest dairy farm, LibanLait, was confronting two seemingly unrelated problems: the rising cost of generating enough power to operate the dairy plant, and how to dispose of the approximately 160,000 pounds of cow manure that accumulated daily.

Dairy farmers, churches partner to fight hunger

Five dairy farms in Cayuga County (Aurora Ridge Dairy, Willet Dairy, Sunnyside Farm, Scipio Springs Dairy and Oakwood Farms) and three Ithaca area churches created a local partnership, dubbed â€œAdopt a Cow,â€ to raise funds to rebuild cattle herds in Mozambique.

Fonterra to offer free bone density scans

Nitrogen in milk

The nitrogen in milk is divided into the protein in casein and whey protein. There is also a small percentage of NPN(non-protein nitrogen), which is in itself divided into Urea and non-Urea nitrogen.
